Beaches in Barbados

The Barbados National Cannon Collection is one...Image via Wikipedia
The Caribbean holds many great treasures when it comes to island destinations. Barbados is just one of these great places. This single island is its own independent country and is located close to South America, a bit over 250 miles from the coast of Venezuela. It is east of Saint Lucia and north of Trinidad and Tobago. The island itself is only about 165 square miles of low-lying land, but the tropical trade winds, beautiful rainforests, and, of course, lovely sandy beaches make it popular for tourist travel. You too can enjoy a vacation in Barbados.

According to the United Nations, Barbados is the fourth most developed of all the developing countries in the entire world. It may be small, but almost every resident of this island nation enjoys a very high standard of living, and this extends to the tourists who visit the country every year, so you can expect your travel in Barbados to be nothing short of fantastic.

If you plan to travel to the sunny beaches of Barbados, you will probably fly into the single major airport on the island, Sir Grantley Adams International Airport. Many major airlines fly into this airport from almost everywhere in the world, and it is actually a major hub for the Caribbean, so no matter where you are traveling in this region of the world, you may fly into Barbados to catch a flight or cruise to another island.

Some of the best things to do while you are in Barbados are centered on the beach. Surfing is very popular because the waters here are perfect for it, with the Soup Bowl, located near the town of Bathsheba, being a popular surfing destination. The western and southern coasts are most popular, and you’re sure to be able to enjoy a number of sunny days lying on the pink sand if you like to sunbathe.

However, if the beach isn’t your thing, you can also enjoy the shopping in the duty-free tourist centers. You can also check out the fun and exciting night life, the wildlife reserves, and the festivals that take part all over the island in July and August. Popular tourist destinations include Farley Hill National Park, Animal Flower Cave, Hackleton’s Cliff, Sharon Moravian Church, Orchid World, Gun Hill Signal Station, Garrison Savannah, and Barbados Historical Museum. Large towns that in Barbados in which you can stay include Bridgetown, Speightstown, Holetown, and Oistins. You can also stay in any one of the small local towns dotting the island while visiting this beautiful country.

Caribbean Travel: Where Can You Go?.

Many people enjoy traveling to the Caribbean for vacation. However, most don’t realize exactly how vast this region is. There are hundreds of things to do and places to see while you’re in the Caribbean, so before you begin planning your trip, you must first decide exactly where you want to go.

Once called the West Indies, the Caribbean was discovered by different explorers from Europe. Many of the people living on these islands, therefore, speak English very well. Because of the location of these islands in the world, they also cater very well to a United States tourist base, so most of the places in this area are great for travel.

Some of the main islands in the Caribbean include the following: Anguilla, Antiqua and Barbuda, Aruba, the Bahamas, Barbados, the British Virgin Islands, Cayman Islands, Cuba, Dominica, Grenada, Guadeloupe, Dominican Republic, Haiti, Jamaica, Martinique, Montserrat, Netherlands Antilles, Puerto Rico, Saint Kitts and Nevis, Saint Lucia, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, Trinidad, Tobago, Turks and the Caicos Islands, and the U.S. Virgin Islands. You can also travel to a number of Central and South American countries that can coastlines along the Caribbean Island.

There are some places, of course that will not be as appropriate for a vacation as others. In fact, in some Caribbean island countries, like Cuba, can be quite dangerous for travelers in some cases. Some of the most popular places for Caribbean travel include Antiqua, the Bahamas, Puerto Rico, Jamaica, and the U.S. Virgin Islands. You can also choose to take a cruise throughout the Caribbean, so you can visit a number of the great islands in this area of the world.

Wherever you decide to travel, make sure you do you research first. In most cases, you’ll need a passport and sometimes you’ll need visa as well. You may also need to make certain considerations for the luggage you wish to take into and out of the Caribbean countries where you wish to travel. Pets are another consideration—if you plan to take your furry friend on vacation with you, you may need to make special arrangements.

Overall, the Caribbean has sunny beaches and luxurious resorts. You can find activities to fill your days with fun, no matter what you like to do—water sports, museum hopping, site seeing—the Caribbean have something for everyone. Work with a travel agent today to get started on planning a wonderful vacation to these islands.

Planning an Escape

"Sky Massage" Maroma Beach ~ Quintan...Image by FabulousTerrah via Flickr
If you want to travel to the Caribbean, one of the most important things you can to is plan it completely. Planning it now may be a lot of work, but if you do it before ever leaving home, you’ll be able to enjoy your vacation while there. No matter which Caribbean island you want to visit, planning is very important.

First, plan how you want to get to your destination. Because of the nature of the Caribbean, flying straight to your destination is not you sole choice. You do so if you choose, but you can also take a cruise throughout the Caribbean islands and visit a bunch of different port cities. In either case, you should plan your transportation as one of the first and foremost aspects of your vacation. Often, you can get a cheaper deal on tickets if you plan far in advance.

You should also consider your accommodations when traveling to the Caribbean. You first choice is, of course, any one of the many hotels and resorts scattered around the islands and catering especially to tourists. Many of these places to stay are completely Americanized and some even are owned by America companies. Another choice you have is the all-inclusive resort. Found on many of the Caribbean islands, all-inclusive resorts are great because they include meals, tours, private beaches, and more for free. If these don’t strike your fancy, you can also try booking a room in a smaller hotel or bed and breakfast, where you can get a true cultural experience.

Once you have your transportation and hotel figured out, you should consider planning certain activities. You can leave a number of days open for relaxing on the beach and spur of the moment tours, but if you don’t plan ahead for some of your activities, you may not be able to fit them into your schedule once there. It is best to plan ahead a bit, but not too much. This is the best way to enjoy your Caribbean vacation.

The last thing you should consider planning is a back up. Things inevitably go wrong on any vacation, so if it rains, have something to do other than lie on the beach. If the hotel overbooks accidentally, be prepared by knowing the names and numbers of some other hotels that might have open rooms. The key to a great vacation in the Caribbean is not to have everything go smoothly, but rather to enjoy it no matter what.

Aruba Adventures

If you like warm, arid weather, beautiful sunny beaches, and stunning sunsets, Aruba might be the perfect vacation spot for you. This little treasure in the Caribbean caters to tourists, especially from the United States, so many people find this to be a great destination. If you’re interested in Caribbean travel, check out what Aruba has to offer to you.

Aruba is found not far north of Venezuela and is part of the Kingdom of the Netherlands. One of the best things about this island is its climate. Unlike many of the other island in the Caribbean, Aruba does not have a generally rainy climate, and in fact is home to desert-like terrain featuring a few species of cacti.

The standard of living in Aruba is very high, and they cater toward a classy, high-end market. Therefore, if you wish to travel to Aruba, your stay may be a bit pricier than in some of the nearby islands in the Caribbean, like the Bahamas or Jamaica. However, the stay is definitely worth it. Aruba has famous white sand beaches and beautiful clear blue waters. If you like water sports, you don’t have to lie on the beach all day! You can try diving, snorkeling, sailing, swimming, parasailing, jet skiing, or any number of other fun adventures.

The Carnival season is important in Aruba and takes place from January until Ash Wednesday. Just as in many other Caribbean countries, Carnival in Aruba has a variety of great festivities in which vacationers on the island can take part. This includes midway games and children’s rides, parades, contests, parties, and special foods. If you’re looking for an exciting time to visit Aruba, try during the Carnival season.

Because the majority of this island’s revenue comes from tourism, and many of their tourists come from the United States, Aruba’s residents usually speak English. The America dollar is also widely accepted (for a fee) in the major shopping and restaurant districts, and the exchange rate is fairly fixed, so money is easily exchanged if you want to do so. More and more, Aruba is becoming a second home for the wealthy from the United States and from around the world.

Aruba can be your sole vacation destination, and you can fly directly into the country’s large public airport, or you can take a cruise throughout the Caribbean islands and stop to enjoy Aruba for the day. The island has a little something for everyone, so whether you like a relaxing vacation to sleep in the sun or an exciting vacation full of adventure, Aruba is a destination in the Caribbean that you should consider.

If you want to travel to the Caribbean, you certainly have no shortage of wonderful destinations from which to choose. One of the most popular places for tourists in the Caribbean, however, is Jamaica. The country of Jamaica is about 150 miles long and 50 miles wide, so it isn’t huge, but it is mighty in the world of tourism, and is actually the third largest island in the Caribbean. It is found less than 100 miles south of Cuba and a little over 100 miles from Hispaniola, the island on which Haiti and the Dominican Republic as found. It was formally a possession of Spain, and late of the United Kingdom, but is now its own nation.

Although Jamaica is small, it has had a large cultural influence on the world. Reggae, ska, dancehall, and ragga are just a few of the many musical genres that originated in Jamaica. Jungle music in the United Kingdom and hip-hop in the United States are also largely accredited to the Jamaican immigrant population. The Rastafari movement also began in Jamaica.

When you are visiting Jamaica, there are a number of fun activities for you to do. Of course, like most other Caribbean islands, Jamaica is home to a number of beautiful beaches, so it is a real island paradise. While there, you can try diving, parasailing, boating, swimming, snorkeling, jet and water skiing, and surfing. Fishing is also very popular in the Jamaica, and you can see a variety of great planets and animals when you are visiting this island.

For those who are not interested in fun in the sun, the nightlife in Jamaica is also great. You can dance the night away in a number of clubs and visit bars to try some of the local drinks. The restaurants here serve both foreign and cultural cuisine, and shopping is great for tourists who want to pick up lots of gifts to take home.

If you plan to go to Jamaica on your next vacation, you can fly directly there or you can take a cruise through Caribbean islands. Make sure that you check with your airport to see what kinds of travel paperwork are required to visit Jamaica from your country and be prepared to experience this fun island culture by reading up on the many things you can see and do while there. Jamaica can be your own island paradise when you visit, so the vacation is definitely worth making the travel plans.

A Mauritius Vacation Does Not Need To Be Expensive

A beach of Rodrigues island : the Anse AliImage via WikipediaYou may believe that taking a vacation in a faraway place such as Mauritius must cost a small fortune;  or, at the very least, that anything affordable would not be up to very good standards.  If you have put off planning a trip because of these beliefs, you will be pleasantly surprised to find that not only can a Mauritius vacation fit into your budget, but also that everything you need in order to make your visit the most perfect vacation you have ever had can be the very best without being accompanied by an extreme cost.

For example, depending on your personal needs for accomodations, there are a number of hotels which will provide beautiful suites and all of the amenities that you would expect to only find in a high-priced hotel.  Being lower in cost does not mean that they offer anything less than the finest services.  You can find hotels which offer such features as a fitness room, sauna, tennis, lovely restaurants with specialty meals, and many other features that you would love to have but may have been afraid that you could not afford.

You can lower the overall cost of your Mauritius vacation considerably if you select a travel package which includes both your flight and your hotel accomodations.  When you have taken this first step, you will be pleasantly surprised at exactly how affordable the vacation of your dreams can really be!

When you check into these packages, you will also find that such important "extras" as car rental and numerous activities can all be nicely achieved within your budget.  Instead of spending a small fortune on your hotel accomodations and other such necessities, you can have them at a much more reasonable price, which will leave you and your family with more spending money for your entertainment and souvenir-shopping.

Reviews of these trip packages make it clear that many people have found them to be more than satisfactory.  Whether you are an individual, a newlywed couple, an elderly person, or planning a trip for your entire family, a vacation on Mauritius is equally suitable and enjoyable for everyone.  There are virtually no negative concerns--  unless you count having too many wonderful things to do and exciting things to experience than will fit into your time schedule!  The costs, and the standards of the accomodations, however, are very reasonable.

If you have been procrastinating about making any solid vacation plans, your worries are over!  There is a Mauritius vacation travel package available to fit nearly every budget.  If you already know all of the experiences and adventures that are waiting for you on the island, you do not need to simply dream about all of the good times you could have on your vacation, you can easily find vacation packages that are much lower than you may have thought, without having to sacrifice the great service and fine quality that you and your family deserve.  You can save money and have a wonderful vacation on Mauritius at the same time.

Auto Rental When in a Maui Hawaii Vacation

You have the travel tickets and you have the accommodation. The problem is how you will get to the hotel from the airport and how you will get to the beach from the hotel. Well, you forgot something when planning a Maui Hawaii vacation, a auto rental.
Actually, you are not alone.

Most people who plan their vacations, whether in Hawaii or anywhere else in the world, always forget this small detail. Some do not even bother at all, rationalizing that the hotel can provide car service for them or that there are hundreds of cabs that can accommodate them. The problem with these two is the fact that they are limited in some ways.

Hiring a cab for example will never be as convenient as having a transportation that is all your own. If you rent an automobile, you can go whenever you want, wherever you want. You just need to start the engine. You don’t have to wait for a cab in the middle of nowhere. Hotel car service, on the other hand, can be pretty expensive, not to mention very hard to get by.

You see most people in the hotel will probably need a car service. And you have got to be at the first in line if you want to leave first. Otherwise, you have to wait for the other people to come back before you can leave or at the very least have the hotel tell you that there is no more cars available.

One down side though with having your own car while on vacation is the directions. This is especially true if this is the first time that you have visited Maui or Hawaii. And even if you have a map, nothing beats having a driver who already knows the way.

You can solve this problem by getting a car rental service that comes with a driver. Most auto car rentals will offer this because they know that tourists don’t have the patience to look at maps and follow road signs.

After all, this vacation is all about relaxing and not stressing over which way to turn to get to the beach! Having a driver is however more expensive than hiring just the car. So make sure first that you have the budget for it.
When you sum it up, renting a car from an auto rental service for the duration of your vacation is cheaper than hiring the hotel’s service.

But you have to take into account the number of times that you will actually use the car rental service. If you are just going to use it once or twice, then you are better off with the hotel’s car service. If however, you plan to tour the whole state, then a car just for you is better.

If you do not plan to go at all and you just plan to stay at the beach and do water sports all day long throughout your vacation time, then don’t anymore rent a car.

You can just book a hotel that is nearer and you all have to do is walk towards the beach. This will save you a lot of expenses for taxis. Auto rental when on a vacation in Maui Hawaii or in any other place is important but it all depends on how you plan to spend your vacation.

Known for its superb national parks, its abundance of gold, and its growing prominence in the wine-producing industry, South Africa is one of those special destinations that manages to offer something for everyone - everyone who has a sense of adventure!

The only problem with visiting South Africa is that it is difficult to choose what to do first; there is an embarrassment of riches to be explored. We recommend that you eat! South African cuisine is just as diverse as its people and features influences from indigenous tribes, as well as German, Dutch, British, Malay, Portuguese, and Indian cultures. Enjoy meat-based dishes, like Braaivleis or the spicy Boerewors.

Try the lamb or beef curry in Bunny Chows, the scrumptious Waterblommetjiebredie, or mutton and water lily stew. Be adventurous and try Masonja, or fried Mopanie worms. Wash these down with Castle, Hansa, Black Label, or Castle Milk beer or South Africa's own wines. Speaking of wine, a visit to the Cape wine region of Stellenbosch or Constantia is in order. Constantia, not far from Cape Town, features extraordinary, verdant views, cool breezes, and, of course, fabulous whites, like crisp Sauvignon Blanc, Riesling, Semillon, and Chardonnay, delicious reds, such as Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Shiraz, and Bordeaux, as well as the legendary sweet wines. View on Dubrovnik (Croatia).Image via WikipediaWhen planning a break that involves sunshine and historic attractions you should give serious consideration to booking villas in Dubrovnik.

The Croatian city may not be as well known as a tourist destination for Britons as many locations in Spain, Italy and France, but that is set to change over the next few years. Known as the Pearl of the Adriatic, Dubrovnik offers beautiful beaches, water sports and as many historic sights as you could hope to pack into any holiday.

Its best-known features are the Old City and fortified walls, which have survived earthquakes and years of conflict relatively intact and have now been awarded UNESCO World Heritage Site accreditation. Many of the old buildings and parts of the ramparts are the best examples of their type to be found in Europe and offer a real insight into the city's past.

There is believed to have been a settlement on the site since the 7th century, but it did not become an important city until the formation of the Republic of Ragusa in 1358. The wealth generated from its subsequent status as a busy trading port helped to fund many of the attractions visitors to the Old City now enjoy.

One of the best starting points when exploring Dubrovnik is a stroll on the city walls. They are 22 metres high in places and will provide you with some of the most memorable views you will see during villa holidays in Croatia.

Your walk around the ramparts will take you to the forts of St John's and Minceta, and 16 lookout towers dotted around the city. You will have to buy a ticket to gain access to the walls, but it also includes entry to the imposing Lovrjenac coastal fort that once helped to protect Dubrovnik from Venetian forces.

After observing the Old City from above, drop down on to the squares and narrow streets to see some of the buildings close up. You will find fascinating sights on every corner in this part of Dubrovnik, including Gothic, Renaissance and Baroque churches, monasteries, the Onofrio Fountain, a statue of the poet Ivan Gundilic, an impressive bell tower and former government buildings, such as the city guard house and Major Council Palace.

Of course, Dubrovnik also has plenty of natural attractions, including some of the best beaches in Croatia, where you can take part in water sports or round off your holiday by relaxing in the sun.

Beautiful Belek - A Jewel of Turkey

29px Club house on the golf course National, i...Image via WikipediaBelek all inclusive holidays can offer you a range of attractions - not the least of which is some superb local golfing.

Where is Belek?

Originally two small fishing villages, it is a town on the Turkish coastline that has been developed specifically to cater for the luxury end of the tourist business.

What does it offer?

In terms of accommodation, this is an up-market resort. It has a large selection of 4 and 5 star hotels and a vast beach of fine sand - a beach that some describe as the best in Turkey. As you would expect, given the luxury nature of the accommodation, the resort also offers a superb range of recreational and entertainment facilities.

Some Belek all inclusive holidays also include a significant number of 'in the price' sporting and recreational activities, but those of a more specialist nature outside of your hotel may be payable separately. There is, of course, an extensive range of water sports activities that take advantage of the inviting Mediterranean right on your doorstep.

Golf

The area around Belek is renowned for golf and there are several nearby courses. Several of these are regarded as 'challenging' and there may be stipulated handicap requirements for entry (though these may not always be policed!) There are also courses regarded as being more moderate. All are equipped and maintained to very high standards.

It is possible to take Belek all inclusive holidays that are based solely around golfing, and other breaks may also offer golfing concessions or special offers. The prices may vary considerably, depending upon the type of holiday you're on.

Other attractions

If you fancy an escape from the beach or the links, the surrounding countryside is simply full of cultural attractions. Perge is a fantastic example of Greco-Roman preserved ruins, and Aspendos has a world-famous ancient amphitheatre. Side is also well worth a visit to see the ruined temples there. If you enjoy nature and wildlife, a visit to the Kursunlu waterfall is a must. There are also numerous walking opportunities - though remember to prepare well, as it can be hot at the height of summer.

Why 'all inclusive' holidays in Belek?

The principles of this type of holiday are well known. Perhaps what is less commonly discussed is why - and when it is, there is often perhaps over-emphasis placed upon economies. The fact is that Belek all inclusive holidays offer the discerning traveller one thing above all else - tranquility.

How? Even the very best hotels can have their procedures, processes and administrations. Constantly signing bar or restaurant receipts, needing to carry cash or cards, and checking bills can all be the sort of thing you prefer to leave behind you when on holiday. You can do exactly that, to a large extent at least, when on this type of holiday. That, perhaps rather than price savings, is what attracts people to Belek all inclusive holidays.

Relax - let Belek and your holiday expert do all the hard work for you!

Nigel Colley is the Managing Director for All Inclusive Holidays, which specialises in Belek all inclusive holidays. All Inclusive Holidays has a wide variety of five star resorts for perfect Belek all inclusive holidays.

Brazil Vacations: Where to Visit

Arcos da Lapa e Catedral Metropolitana do Rio ...Image by Rodrigo_Soldon via FlickrBrazil is the largest country in South America, and it can be hard to decide where to visit. Everyone knows about the coastal cities and Rio de Janeiro, famous for its massive annual Carnival celebration. But Brazil has much to offer. If you're trying to decide where you want to go during your Brazil vacation, read this short summary of top Brazil tour destination to help you choose.

Brasilia: Surprise! This is the capital of Brazil, not Rio de Janeiro, as many people think. The capital city of Brazil is hidden away in the heart of the country, far from the coast. It became the capital in 1960 when former president Kebitchek decided to create a modern, sophisticated capital in the middle of the country.

Rio de Janeiro: Rio is the home of the Carnival, and is a lively city, to say the least. This cosmopolitan madhouse sits beautifully along the coast lined with white beaches. On topical mountain edges and with the massive statue or Christ the Redeemer overlooking the city, this is a fabulously interesting place to visit.

Sao Paulo: This is another massive city in Brazil, in fact, it is Brazil's largest city. It is the commercial center of the country and is full of impressive skyscrapers. This is where you can visit some of the hippest clubs, nightclubs, dance clubs, and bars in Brazil.

Manaus: if you want to journey deep into the heart of the Brazilian Amazon, which makes up a large portion of the country, then you need to make sure Manaus is on the itinerary for your Brazil vacation package. This city in northwest Brazil is the capital of the Amazonas State is sits close to where the Rio Negro River meets to Solimoes to form the Amazon River. It is interesting to see the black and yellow river mix together here. In fact, seeing the Amazon River and the massive number of boats that navigate in this area is impressive in itself.

Pantanal: This is a marshy region that extends through parts of Brazil as well as parts of eastern Paraguay and Bolivia. It is believed to be one of the most biologically rich places in the entire world. This is a great place for adventure travelers to visit during their Brazil vacation, because one is likely to see tons of unique wildlife, and because there is not much infrastructure, just getting there and away is a challenge in itself.

Explore Indonesia - Travel Itineraries and Trip Planning Advice For Indonesia

Close up view.Image via WikipediaIndonesia is the largest and most sprawling archipelago in the world, with more than 17,000 islands. Travelers to Indonesia on a tight schedule, or otherwise concerned with delays, should definitely take a package or escorted tour. Flexible visitors traveling independently outside the tourist areas will find that they can get by with spending very little, but accommodations are basic and transportation is slow. The following is a 13-day travel itinerary for Indonesia:

Day 1 - Arrive Jakarta.

2 - Jakarta.

3 - Fly to Yogyakarta.

4 - Yogyakarta.

5 - Fly to Bali.

6 and 7-Bali.

8 - Fly to Flores.

9 - Flores.

10 - Fly to Sumatra (via Denpasar, Bali).

11 - Sumatra.

12 - Full-day trip (with cruise) to Lake Toba.

Day 13 - Back to Jakarta to depart country.

For the travelers with less time, and interest only in Bali, I'd recommend the following 8-day trip.

Day 1 - Arrive Denpasar, Bali. Overnight in either Kuta, Sanur or Nusa Dua, depending on your interests.

2 - Depart in the morning for Ubud, stopping at craft villages along the way. Stroll through town and attend an evening dance performance.

3 - Ubud. Spend the day exploring the surrounding sites and villages.

4 - Depart in the morning for a drive to Batur Volcano and Lake, the Mother Temple and the royal baths at Tirtagangaa. Overnight in either Candidasa or Tulamben.

5 - In Tulamben, spend the morning snorkeling or scuba diving around the offshore wreck of the USS Liberty. Depart in the afternoon for Lovina.

6 - Get up early in the morning to see the dolphins.

7 - Depart Lovina. Head for Kuta, Sanur or Nusa Dua for overnight.

Day 8 - Spend the day shopping and on the beach. Visit the Uluwatu or Tanah Lot temples. Depart in the evening.

If you are able to stay longer in Indonesia, consider extending the stay in Bali one week or adding a week on the islands of Ambon and Sulawesi. Another option would be to spend 3 to 5 days on Bali, travel to Surabaya by bus (or van) and ferry, take a train to Yogyakarta (a daylong trip) and spend a few days there before flying to Denpasar or Jakarta for your departure. Other alternatives include a trip to Komodo Island; a two- or three-day trip to the easternmost major island, Papua, to see the birds and jungles and try its fabulous diving; a four-day trip to Kalimantan to visit the orangutans; or a few days on an excursion to one of the volcanoes. Most travelers see only the major islands and sights and leave satisfied. But if you have lots of time and patience, you can visit literally hundreds of other islands. Most are only seen by dedicated anthropologists, ornithologists or long-term around-the-world adventurers.

If you are planning a trip to Indonesia, visit the website: Worldwide Travel. You can easily find cheap flights to Indonesia with their flight comparison engine and save money. Enjoy Indonesia, the sleeping giant of Southeast Asia!
